After a tiny sprinkling of snow in November....

Whilst raking leaves I was surprised to find these bright little primrose faces!  I had been intending to dig them up because they had virtually been devoured by slugs.

I was reminded of Luke 13 when a man who owned a fig tree wanted it cut down because it didn't have any figs for 3 years...'why cumbereth it the ground?'  But then the patience of the 'dresser' who asked for another year to nurture it, 'And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down'.

On this particularly beautiful Autumn morning as I hung the washing out there was a cheery robin singing - cheery like the bright red berries on the holly tree (which looks very strange - all berries and hardly any leaves, although it doesn't seem to be stopping the pigeons from tucking in).

'...the LORD's mercies...they are new every morning...'

We always aim to have a break around our Wedding Anniversary.  This year we had a week at Combe Martin, Devon and enjoyed exploring the surrounding area:

'...so he bringeth them unto their desired haven'

These sunflowers brighten up dull days like sunshine...One day as they grew taller our local squirrel sat back on his haunches and gazed up at them as if to say, 'That's funny, I don't remember seeing these trees before'....and then ran up them at full speed😂...

A beautiful sunny late summer's day at Mum and Dad's enjoying the roses...

I love growing sweet peas...the pleasure of cutting fresh blooms every day, the fragrance and colours (not the aphids they always seem to attract!) ...

An evening walk in the Surrey countryside...cows quietly grazing, birds singing, the sun's lowering rays beautifully lighting the scene...

Father and son-in-law having fellowship together in a quiet Dorset valley, with sheep grazing and a brook trickling down to the sea:

I feel so blessed by the love of my husband (who surprised me with these flowers)...and then when I think how our marriage is just a type of the greater love that Jesus has for his church I am overwhelmed...

Beautiful evidences of God's glory all around us - on a woodland spring walk...

Sowing grass seed after clearing thick weeds and brambles over the winter...looking forward to the first signs of growth...

A wander through our local churchyard enjoying spring flowers and sunshine...

A rainy walk in early spring, with sunny crocuses brightening up the day.

Do you sometimes have 'thought ladders'?...when your mind is thinking about one thing, that leads to another and then another but sometimes takes you higher? As I was enjoying the simple pleasures of these veg with their vibrant colours I thought how order gives me a sense of calm...like when the house is orderly and decluttered...which led my thoughts to Genesis and the creation - how orderly and perfect it must have been...

And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good Genesis 1:31:
